Our gorgeous new grandson Edgar came over for lunch today with his Mum and Dad to meet his Uncle Jon. I’ve just downloaded some photos and couldn’t resist putting one on the blog to show him off. He was on his very best behaviour, and didn’t mind being passed around, having lots of cuddles from his Great Gran and Great Auntie Eileen who came to see him too, not to mention Granny and Grumpy who can’t get enough of him. Being grandparents really does seem to be as great as everyone says it is, we are loving it! It’s been a really fantastic day.

Had a really good night at Articulate ( the art and crafts group at the hall across the road from us) on Friday. Rachel, the secretary, showed us what she does with canvases using fabrics, buttons, bead ribbons etc to make fabulous pictures, and she got us all inspired to have a go. I decided to do something simple to hang on our bedroom wall, and used some cream curtain lining and some patterned cotton to make this heart, then stitched some old buttons on to it. It was great fun, and I’m going to go out and get myself a few more canvases to experiment with.

It’s great to be inspired by other people and go off in new directions, but this week it’s back to the paper craft , as I have a meeting with Jenny Dixon from Papercraft Inspirations to think about some Christmas ideas. I never quite get used to working on Christmas in the summer, but at least I do have a few ideas!

Life seems to have been very hectic since we moved, and I haven’t been posting very much.

We’ve completely re-done the kitchen , and that’s taken up lots of my time,  and we’ve also had our first grandchild, so I ‘ve been doing a lot of baby knitting. I have got my workroom sorted out now, and am beginning to get back to doing more crafting. So I hope to get lots of “crafty” pix up soon, but for the time being here’s the latest family creation, our lovely grandson Edgar!
